Soil formation, also known as pedogenesis, is a complex process influenced by climate, parent material, topography, organisms, and time. It occurs through:

  - Weathering: The breakdown of rocks and minerals into smaller particles, a crucial step in soil formation.

  - Horizons: Distinct layers in the soil profile, such as topsoil, subsoil, and bedrock.
